The project topic was "der Ring des Nibelungen" by Richard Wagner. Each student assigned a short part of the opera which then should be interpreted in modern times. We tried to reflect and research Wagner and his work especially because of his controversial beliefs and lifestyle. I got the first Part of Siegfried which I titled "Ziehvater" which translates to fosterdad. This title reflects the relationship between Siefried and Mime.
I used a special technique for the illustrations. I painted rough forms on see-through foil with black ink an scraped the details and lines into the dry paint. Afterwords everything was bitmapped and printed with the Risograph in the color teal.
